This Pistachio Matcha Latte is the perfect combination of nutty, earthy and sweet. It’s a great way to elevate your regular matcha and make it yummier.
In recent years, Pistachio lattes have been very popular with coffee enthusiasts. Adding a spoon or two of pistachio paste really enhances the drink and turns out, they taste delicious even in Matcha lattes.
This Pistachio Matcha Latte recipe is very flexible. While I always like it cold, you can feel free to skip the ice and make it a hot matcha latte with steamed milk. You can also make it vegan by using non-dairy milk and pistachio paste.
Why Matcha?
Personally, I am a bit of a regular coffee drinker and I love a good cappuccino. However, it is important to me that I consume caffeine in moderation which is why, I have lately tried to incorporate matcha in my daily routine.
Matcha is known for having plenty of health benefits including being high in antioxidants, lower in caffeine (as compared with coffee), while giving you a longer lasting energy to go about your day.
It also has a distinct earthy flavour and the vibrant green colour makes it quite an attractive drink.
I recently got my hands on the Organic Cocktail Grade Matcha from AVANTCHA and I’ve been experimenting with it ever since. AVANTCHA sources their Matcha from different tea farms in Japan and I really enjoyed the vibrant green shade and it’s deep Umami taste.

Ingredients and Equipment for making this Matcha Latte
- Matcha Powder- Use a premium quality matcha powder or ceremonial grade for the most flavourful results. I used AVANTCHA Cocktail grade Matcha.
- Pistachio Cream- Any Pistachio cream, spread or paste will work. This will also act as the only sweetener in the recipe. You can add extra honey, agave or condensed milk if you require additional sweetness to your pistachio matcha drink.
- Milk- I use full fat dairy milk, but you can opt for any plant-based milk like oat milk or pistachio milk.
- Matcha Whisk or Electric Frother to whip the matcha powder with hot water to create the matcha mix. If you have neither of them, use a regular, small-sized stainless steel whisk and mix well.
- Fine mesh strainer to get rid of any lumps in the matcha powder.
