Spiced Watermelon Chaat

Watermelon chaat is possibly one of the best fruit chaats you could try out during the summer, or while you’re fasting during Ramadan.

I love how hydrating it is, and so refreshing. Watermelon is one of the Prophetic fruits that our beloved Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) enjoyed during his time. He (pbuh) have also advised it as a medicine, that is known to cleanse our body.

Inspired by a recipe I saw on NYT Cooking this chaat is spiced up using chaat masala, cumin and dry mango powder. Initially, I was un-sure if this recipe would actually work with watermelon but I am so glad I made it. It turned out amazing!

I think most of us who fast during Ramadan, enjoy watermelon in general, during Iftar. We have it on our table almost every other day, and this chaat from now on, is my go-to recipe to spice up my usual cut watermelon.

However, you can recreate this recipe with any other fruit of your choice. Mixed berries, bananas, apple, mango are all good options. You could also have a mix of different fruits, if you like.

A few other options you will love: Fresh Watermelon and Strawberry soda, Broccoli-Grape Salad and Mango Lemonade.

Do enjoy this watermelon fruit chaat. And wishing you all a blessed, wholesome Ramadan!
