Badam Milk is a common Indian drink made with grinded Almonds and whole milk. It can be infused with spices like cardamom or saffron. This is a very simple recipe which is wholesome and delicious.
Drinks are a must during Ramadan. It helps us stay hydrated. Most of us (including myself) often go towards cold sugary drinks to quench our thirst. And while that might be satisfying, it is not the best option to have on an empty stomach after a day of fasting.
Warm milk-based drinks like Badam Milk are actually much better for us. They are far more healthier and it really is so much more soothing to your tummy as well.

I am a huge lover of Badam Doodh and while it is a recipe you can make at any time of the year, I have a lot more memories of having it during Ramadan. My mum makes it every year, it’s a well loved drink at our Iftar table. This simple recipe is how she makes it. It is a very flexible drink which you can enhance with some saffron, cardamom, chopped nuts and so on.
I am also aware that many enjoy Badam Doodh cold instead warm. If that is you, then you may prepare this drink early and chill it for a few hours before serving.

How to make a cup of Badam Milk at home?
A simple rundown of the recipe, all we do is soak the almonds overnight in warm water (a few hours is also enough sometimes). The almonds will soften slightly and it will be easier to peel. Peel the almonds and grind it to a fine paste with the help of a little water. Then, mix almond paste with milk and sugar (or another sweetener) in a pot, let it come to a boil and then serve warm!
Easy peasy, isn’t it? Do try it at home and I hope you all have a beautiful Ramadan!
